The official traffic goes south and east. You go west.
At previous Knebworth shows the official car parks were reached from the A1(M) Junction 7 roundabout, with northern traffic sent down the B197 London Road through Knebworth village. Old Knebworth is a separate hamlet beyond the far side of the estate, reached by lanes from the B656 on the Codicote and Welwyn side. Our gate is on that side. Stay away from Junction 7 and the B197 and you avoid the queues that formed there at previous shows.
From London & the south
Leave the A1(M) at Junction 6 (Welwyn). Take the B656 north towards Codicote, then the lanes east to Old Knebworth; your ticket has the postcode and entrance details, and our signs mark the entrance. Allow 15 minutes from J6.
From the north & Midlands
Leave the A1(M) at Junction 8 (Stevenage North / Hitchin). Head west to the B656 at Hitchin/St Ippolyts, then south towards Codicote and the lanes east to Old Knebworth; the entrance is signed. Allow 25 minutes from J8.
From the west (Luton and the M1)
Come cross-country to Codicote on the B656, then the lanes east to Old Knebworth; the entrance is signed. You never touch the A1(M) at all.
- ✗ Do not follow satnav routes via the A1(M) Junction 7 or the B197 through Knebworth village on show days. That is where the queues formed at previous shows.
- ✗ Do not try to enter Knebworth Park by car from Old Knebworth Lane. Estate security will turn you round. Our field is private land outside the park.
- ✗ Do not arrive at the glamping after 22:00 without emailing us first; check-in closes then, but we can arrange a late arrival.
Honesty note: we control our field, gate and lane, not the public roads. Apart from one Sonisphere exit route along Old Knebworth Lane in 2014, the Old Knebworth side has not been part of official car-park routing at previous Knebworth shows, but the county council and police run the roads on the day and the 2027 traffic plan is not yet published. Leave early.
At the gate
- 1. Have the QR on your phone ready before you reach the gate — screenshots are fine, no signal needed.
- 2. A steward scans it and points you to your row (parking) or to the guest car park (glamping).
- 3. Park in your marked bay as directed. Keep the aisles clear at all times; they are fire lanes.
- 4. Glamping guests: park in the guest car park beside the glamping field; a host shows you to your tent.
Walking to the show
About a mile from the stage; a walk to the show. The park's Old Knebworth Lane entrance is 15 minutes on foot from our site, past the Lytton Arms pub about halfway. Which entrances open on show days is up to the organisers, so we confirm the route nearer the time and send it to every guest with a map. We run our own field and gate, not the public paths.
